House GOP poised to hold vote on repeal of ObamaCare after Supreme Court ruling

House Republican leaders are forging ahead with plans to hold a vote Wednesday on a full repeal of President Obama’s health care law, after launching debate on the repeal measure Tuesday nearly two weeks after the Supreme Court upheld most of the law as constitutional.

There’s only one word to describe this……. stupid.  What do these guys think this accomplishes?  It isn’t going pass the Senate, and even if it did, the president would veto it.  There isn’t 2/3 in either house, much less both, to override the veto.  I’m assuming Boehner and crew aren’t entirely brain dead and know this.  So, this is a symbolic vote…… for the 17th time.

All this does is keep the opposition’s base excited.  Leave it alone, understand there’s nothing to be done about this until after the election.  Use your energies and political capital for more worthwhile ventures.

They need to keep their own base excited too. Effectively, it may be a waste of time, but if it helps your re-election, then it isn’t.

You can keep them excited by saying “if elected we’ll repeal….xyz”. There’s a plethora of issues out there, some of them with actual headway we can make.

I like this quote supposedly from John Adams:
“In my many years I have come to a conclusion that one useless man is a shame, two is a law firm, and three or more is a congress.”

There used to be a saying that when the legislature was not in session, your wallet was safe. The same could be said of Congress. I don’t mind Congress wasting time on useless stuff. That means they aren’t removing money from my pocket and freedom from my soul.

I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree.

Lol, “I don’t mind Congress wasting time on useless stuff. That means they aren’t removing money from my pocket and freedom from my soul.”……. point taken.
